Car Leather
In the production of car leather, oils are used to help to preserve the material but over time car leather will become depleted of these oils that normally help to keep it supple and fresh. This leaves the car leather looking and feeling hard, worn and cracked, so a protective surface is applied to help prevent this. However this surface can also become damaged or cracked exposing the car leather underneath, which is then more susceptible to drying and ultimately irreparable damage to the car leather hide itself. Soap and water must not be used to clean car leather as it will shrink and harden it. Greasy, waxy oils, pastes and balms will attract dust and dirt, which adheres to the finish and will eventually cause abrasion. These natural oils can be replenished using Dynamix pH neutral car leather cleaner to first revitalise and gently clean the car leather surface. This is followed by Dynamix pH neutral car leather conditioner to replenish the oils, protect the leather surface and keep the leather supple ensuring its long-term care.

Leather Dye... a Brief History
At Dynamix, we believe that using one of our leather dyes to restore your car leather has 2 main benefits: It keeps the originality of your car and saves you money on a retrim, which in many cases is unnecessary. In the past, ‘Re-Connollising’ was a well known method for adding a new layer of colour to car leather, a system developed by the Connolly Brothers that has for years been the traditional method of "redyeing" car leather. The kit consisted of Ammonia based cleaner, cellulose based leather dye/paint and hide food.

The process involved ammonia cleaners stripping away natural oils, leaving the car leather dry and stiff. Then the cellulose leather dye or paint was applied leaving it even dryer and in some cases stitching was also damaged. The spirit based leather dye sealed off the leather, prohibiting it absorbing natural oils from a conditioner and subsequent cracking occurred as the car leather dried out.

Dynamix water based car leather dye is an environmentally safe product which recolours your car leather to an original finish without the concern of your car leather cracking in the future, as it allows the hide to breathe. These hand crafted car leather dyes are suitable for touching in an existing colour or changing the colour of the leather. Dynamix car leather dye requires no specialist tools to achieve professional results, and can be sponged/rolled or sprayed on. The car leather dye also comes in 3 sizes 65ml/150ml & 250ml ensuring a perfect size… no matter what the project.
